On March 5, 2009, Lynwood Utility Corporation filed for a rate increase before the Tennessee Regulatory Authority (TRA) in the amount of $185,440 annually. The utility requested a rate increase on its 836 customers of 33.82%. The Consumer Advocate countered that, in light of the information provided by the utility, no increase should exceed 10.17%. After a hearing on the merits on July 21, 2009, the TRA ordered an annual rate increase of approximately $125,000 or approximately 21%.
